Well, the one year anniversary of my loss of cable has gone and I still have not ordered cable--YET. I have been surviving by watching shows on Hulu or while at work at the theater. Unfortunately, the show closed at the theater and I will be without cable for another six weeks when I return there.
I will have to say that I have missed watching television. I would get my fix by eating at places that had TV--especially during sporting events. Now that there are NFL playoffs, I have really missed cable. What sends me into a quandary is the Olympics. I am a huge Olympics fan. I watch everything--even, curling. I am an Olympics junkie and now I do not have cable. I haven't been able to find a live streaming of the Olympics for my computer. Nor have I been able to find out how people get cable streamed directly to their computer. Hell, my computer screen is larger than my television screen.
So, now--I have to figure out what I want to do. Also, this whole battle between Time Warner/Cablevision and the Food Network/HGTV has really gotten me puzzled as well. Those two channels are the essence of my entire being. How could these people not come to an agreement over terms. What's the point of having cable if you can't watch Bobby Flay 15 times a day or hear Paula Dean's voice grating on your every fiber.
I will keep you posted on my weakening over ordering cable. Please pray for me to be strong and/or find me a way to watch the Olympics on my computer.
PS, since the theater is dark, I have been able to watch some movies. I will post reviews of what I have seen--some of which have already been over-analyzed.
