I wanted to see the movie Adam before it left NYC. It wasn’t getting much play time and was getting lost in the summer of blockbusters. With 14 movies opening this weekend, I was afraid that I would miss it.
The main reason I wanted to see the movie was Hugh Dancy. I met him while he was performing on Broadway in 2007 in the Tony Award winning Best Revival of the play, Journey’s End. I was amazed at his craft on stage. I was absolutely amazed at how nice of a person he was.
If you enjoy good acting and don’t mind shedding a tear or two, go and see this film. The camera work isn’t as slick as Time Traveler’s Wife but that is done with a very conscious decision. Hugh Dancy is an absolute marvel in this film and he is paired wonderfully with Rose Byrne (which I am happy to say makes up for her making the film, Knowing).
I don’t want to give away any of the plot so as not to ruin parts of the movie for you but see this movie before it leaves. See it on the big screen. If you want a good date flick, this would be the one (much more so than The Time Traveler’s Wife).
I rate this movie one watch.
