Day 229-- GI Joe

If you like big budget popcorn movies, this is your movie. The movie is loud, fast, and a visual treat. If you want a smart, well made and intelligent movie—STAY HOME. Viewers will have to take a lot for granted in watching this movie but if you are willing to skip past the inaccuracies in plot, run to this movie.

The acting is horrific and hopefully, you won’t want Oscar caliber acting—because, you certainly won’t get it here. Dennis Quad is simply laughable. Why he is on the screen is beyond me. Granted, he is given lines that must have been written by a computer or robot. Channing Tatum as an Army Captain is unbelievable in anyone’s book. Seeing him in command of an Army unit is ludicrous.

If you are willing to overlook these problems and just want to sit back and enjoy the spectacle of the movie—take a big breath and relax because you are going to love what you see. With the exception of a single bad example of desert sand disappearing over a sink hole, the CGI and editing of the movie is fantastic. The quick cut editing is remarkable and at times breathtaking.

I enjoyed the movie only because of the technical aspects on the screen.

I rate this movie three watches.
