Ramon Rodrigues Victor Gojcaj
Pictures from IMDB
I hadn't seen the original of this movie. I can't stand John Travolta but figured that a movie with Denzel Washington couldn't be all that bad. I had two hours free, so I decided to see the movie.
The movie is an action packed movie with some great acting from Denzel Washington. Some of the plot was very thin and there were some inconsistancies in the plot that were actually pointed out by the mayor (played by James Gandofini).
As for John Travolta--he was OK. I didn't care for his lack of accent/dialect because it just did coincide with this look. He sounded too much like a greasy Vinny Barbarino. Whenever he cussed, he reaches this high pitch voice that just gets annoying.
Two plusses for me were Ramon Rodriquez who is a cute, bearded MTA worker that is a colleague of the Denzel Washington character. Another bad hottie was Victor Gojcaj a real life criminal that was recruited for the movie by agreeing to abstain from further criminal activity.
Definitely, a good picture with some great actions scenes (which for the most part where done for the sake of action scenes). You definitely have to suspend you disbelief if you want to enjoy this movie.
